Bethel College Mennonite Church is like a family that walks together in joy and sorrow, in life and death.
A community…
We are a faith community that cherishes persons of all ages, is diverse and tolerant, values open communication with each other, and gathers regularly for food and fellowship. Our church family is strengthened by small group organizations within our large membership. We welcome into fellowship and membership all persons who confess faith in Jesus Christ, without regard to their race, ethnic background, gender, age, sexual orientation, education, ability, and other factors which give rise to discrimination and marginalization.
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 3:11 – New Revised Standard Version
…at worship
Worship at Bethel College Mennonite Church is central to experiencing the presence of Christ. Our worship services include both tradition and experiment, are enriched by the arts, and are planned by and for all ages. When we worship together, we honor God, and nurture our spiritual lives.
…engaged in ministry and service
We strive to follow Jesus as joyful disciples. We offer ourselves to those who are suffering, the resolution of conflict, and care for the natural environment. We support community, national and international organizations that work to meet the needs of the world. We recognize the mutuality in ministry, benefiting from each other. Among the local organizations that we support are the Community Playschool and Kidron Bethel Village.
…growing in faith
We value education and provide numerous and diverse Sunday school classes, informative sessions on a variety of topics, Vacation Bible School, and organizations for all ages. We learn from one another and from those beyond our fellowship. We support and value our close ties to Bethel College and benefit from the opportunities it provides for continued learning.
…grounded in a historical foundation
We honor our Anabaptist heritage with its emphasis on peacemaking and service to others. We belong to the Western District Conference of Mennonite Church USA. We support the charitable work of Mennonite Central Committee, Mennonite Disaster Service, and numerous other organizations.
