This Sunday we will begin a new worship series using liberation theology as a lens to help interpret the lectionary texts.  Liberation theology begins with the assumption that God is on the side of the oppressed and seeks freedom for all.  This series will go through the first Sunday of November. However, next Sunday, September 20, will be Peace Sunday, hosted by the Witness Commission with guest speaker Christy Miller Hesed (see her bio below), and Sunday, October 4 will be a worship service in partnership with Bethel College as part of their Fall Fest celebration.  We pray that these various worship services over the next few months will help to open our eyes to see where God is at work and to join in God’s path of liberation.
