Safwat Marzouk from Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary.   Safwat is Associate Professor of Old Testament/Hebrew Bible and will speak from Ruth 2, focusing on the interactions between hosts and migrants.  Safwat is in the area for the Bethel College Bible Lecture series Nov. 4 and 5.

Dr. Marzouk, is associate professor of Old Testament at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (Elkhart, Ind.), where he has taught since 2011.

On Monday morning (Nov. 5), he will speak on “Ethnic Boundary Crossing as a Way of Resisting Tyranny and Oppression in Exodus 1-2” at 11 am in convocation.  Both lectures are in Krehbiel Auditorium.
Dr. Marzouk was invited to give the lectures this year particularly because of his scholarship on the book of Exodus, one of the common texts for this school year’s capstone course for Bethel seniors, Basic Issues of Faith and Life (BIFL).  He will be meeting with students in the two fall BIFL classes Monday afternoon to discuss that book.
